About The Show

Welcome to The American History Podcast, a monthly program dedicated to detailing the history of America from right before the time of "discovery" up through the present. However, this will not be the sort of history your 8th grade teacher taught you! It will be told from the perspective of a libertarian.

This show will be produced on a monthly basis, with episodes coming out on the 15th  of each month. At least as of right now this is the plan. If things go well then perhaps we will produce episodes more regularly.

My credentials? I'm a history teacher in El Paso, Texas, a career I started about 13 years ago after serving for a decade in the Navy. I've taught AP World, AP US, AP Euro and IB History of the Americas as well as US history at the collegiate level.

I have a B.A. in History and British Literature, an M.A. in U.S.-Mexico Borderlands history and I'm currently working on my PhD in history (19th/20th Century Militarization, Empire and Violence). My dissertation is on Fort Bliss and tentatively titled, "Desert Outpost: Fort Bliss, American Empire and the Militarization of the U.S.-Mexico Border, 1848-1924."
